PVSC Wastewater Treatment plant headworks facility
PVSC Treatment Plant is the largest waste water treatment facility in the Eastern United States and the fourth largest in the nation. The 170-acre facility is located in an industrial area of Newark. The existing grit and screening removal facility was constructed in 1973 to replace and upgrade the plant’s original headworks facility, which had been built in 1924. During Sandy a 12-foot storm surge pushed across the property flooding critical infrastructure. The scope of this rehabilitation project includes replacement of six bar screens, forebay modifications, replacement of an existing Grit and Screenings Building with a larger building and modifications to the grit channels. This is a phased construction while maintaining operations of the facility. In order to do the design for the new construction 3D As-Built model was required.

- 3D Laser Scanning
- BIM 3D Modeling
EnTech provided 3D laser scanning and 3D modeling for each of the structures. EnTech developed a 3D point cloud of the Grit and Screenings Building, Incinerator Building and Pipe Tunnel. The point cloud included architectural and structural features, mechanical and electrical equipment, and plumbing for all interior spaces and selected parts of exterior.
