geotechnical investigation for southeast queens park

The NYCDEP in conjunction with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is investigating the potential for additional green infrastructure design and implementation in three parks located in Southeast Queens, New York. EnTech has performed a Limited Geotechnical Subsurface Investigation at several locations.

Key Services

  • Geotechnical Investigation

Project Description

EnTech performed geotechnical investigation to determine subsoil characteristics, subsoil permeability rates, groundwater information, and depth to bedrock (if encountered). Soil boring and permeability test locations were determined by DEP and EnTech. The tasks which comprised the work scope are summarized below:

  • Perform soil borings and permeability tests at designated locations
  • Provide full-time resident observation of the explorations under supervision of a NYS Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Obtain and classify soil samples for geotechnical purposes;
  • Determine depths to groundwater table
  • Perform laboratory testing on selected samples recovered at specific depth intervals
  • Determine subsoil permeability rates using falling-head in-situ permeability tests
  • Prepare a geotechnical report presenting the results of our investigation and our recommendation
