This NYCDEP project involved the demolition of three bridges and the reconstruction of two existing bridges located within the Croton Watershed area of Westchester County due to the poor condition of their existing superstructure, low road ratings, and substandard features. This project featured services for two contract packages (A&B). Package A included the demolition of the Dean’s Bridge, the Lakeside Road (Katonah) Bridge, and the Plum Brook Bridge. Package B consisted of reconstruction and/or replacement of the Cross River Inlet Bridge and the Baptist Church Road Bridge.
As a subconsultant to Hardesty & Hanover, EnTech’s scope of work required permit management, environmental sampling, completion of hazardous materials inventory, document review, and CEQR/SEQRA classification.
Our team of environmental scientists and engineers worked closely with the NYCDEP to oversee the environmental permitting aspects of the project, regulatory agency coordination, and preparation of environmental assessments.
Specific tasks completed by our team include: preparation of necessary documents related to the NYC Environmental Quality Review Act (CEQR) and NYS Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR), completion of the Environmental Assessment Statement Full Form, preparation of the Joint Permit Application Form for NYSDEC and USACE, SHPO Consultation, attending local town planning board meetings, conducting a soil and groundwater survey, hazardous materials survey, and preparation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for each location.
Currently, EnTech is working with the design team and NYCDEP to obtain the final permits prior to construction in the Fall of 2023.
