Sue Bayat Receives the Empire State Development Carey Gabay Excellence and Innovation Award

At the 11th Annual New York State MWBE Forum, EnTech’s founder and president, Sue Bayat, received the Carey Gabay Award, which recognizes entrepreneurial spirit and achievement as a New York State-certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).

The award celebrates the state’s minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) for their commitment to innovation and efforts to strengthen their communities. EnTech is proud to be recognized for embodying these principles.

The theme of this year’s forum was “Innovating Forward.” The event focused on uplifting, strengthening, and celebrating MWBEs as the COVID-19 pandemic persists. The event also aimed to usher in an era of connectivity between New York State agencies, private sector partners, and MWBEs.

“I am honored and proud for this recognition and dedicate it to the talented, professional, and hardworking team of EnTech family," said Bayat. "In addition, we are so thankful to our clients who trust EnTech and give us amazing opportunities to work on projects that improve the lives of our communities and make New York City and State the best places to live and work.”

The award is named in honor of Carey Gabay, a dedicated attorney and publicservant. At the time of his tragic death, Mr. Gabay was First Deputy Counsel for theEmpire State Development Corporation, where he worked tirelessly to ensure the successofNewYork’sMWBEprogram.
