As part of the design team, EnTech was responsible for the preparation of preliminary construction staging plans, Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) plans, and environmental assessments. EnTech also worked on civil engineering design tasks such as designing temporary access ramps, traffic signals, pavement marking and on-site pedestrian detours.

The design of Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) plans required nine different primary stages as well as several off peak substages. The multi-stage multi-phase construction included the installation of temporary bridges and re-alignment of local roads during construction. The work zone layout and design followed the NYSDOT Standard Sheets, Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD) and NYS Supplement. The design addressed safety issues for both the vehicular and pedestrian traffic as well as maintaining the existing Level of Service (LOS) to the extent possible.

Our environmental team conducted a 30-acre Hazardous Materials Screening Investigation during Phase I. The assessment focused on identifying locations of underground or aboveground storage tanks, hazardous waste generators, and properties with reported hazardous materials spills. EnTech also completed Phase II surveys for the bridge. Surveys were conducted to evaluate the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions and identify the presence of asbestos, lead, and universal waste containing materials.
