The two-level Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge is one of New York’s most heavily trafficked bridges, carrying over 145,500 vehicles, 5,000 cyclists, and 1,900 pedestrians daily. The bridge’s upper roadway has suffered significant deterioration since it was last replaced 40 years ago, leading the NYCDOT to replace the roadway deck, superstructure, floorbeams, utilities, and traffic control systems.

EnTech is providing REI services for this $353 million project, which will install lightweight orthotropic decking to reduce the overall dead load and extend the service life of the bridge. The firm is monitoring contractor operations, performing daily quality and safety inspections, providing office engineering and project controls services, and reviewing change orders, cost estimates, and payments.
