The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYCDPR) undertook the expansion and reconstruction of Kelly Park’s playground, in the Homecrest neighborhood of Brooklyn, reenvisioning the playground as a barrier-free play space. The project more than tripled the area occupied by the former playground, creating a large play area with a unique design that encourages inclusive and universal play.
EnTech led CM and administrative services. The scope of work included demolition of existing equipment and structures, installation of new equipment, and reconstruction and upgrade of the park’s accessibility, electrical, and drainage and water supply. The firm monitored and inspected contractor work, oversaw the project schedule and budget, and monitored safety programs. The team also oversaw the installation of an erosion control system and the execution of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to prevent stormwater pollutant discharge.
EnTech additionally supported environmental remediation activities by reviewing environmental permits, providing technical guidance, and assisting the CM team in overseeing hazardous waste operations during construction.
