As part of long-term recovery efforts following Hurricane Sandy, which decimated recreational amenities in the area, the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYCDPR) constructed two neighboring recreational spaces adjacent to the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk. One site includes a dog run; the other includes lawns, pathways, seating areas, and an in-ground ornamental labyrinth.
EnTech provided CM services, leading the resident engineering team responsible for construction inspection and supervision. The firm monitored contractor work for quality and conformance to contract specifications. EnTech verified that construction did not improperly affect the sand dunes at the shorefront-adjacent site. The team interpreted contract drawings, specifications, and addenda to resolve questions arising on-site.
EnTech maintained continual communication with project stakeholders, documented project progress, monitored the schedule and budget, responded to RFIs, and verified payments. The team also managed strict recordkeeping of project costs in accordance with FEMA standards, for this FEMA-funded Hurricane Sandy-recovery project.
