EnTech Completes First Green Infrastructure Contract with NHSA

Services: Resident Engineering Inspection (REI)
Location: Weehawken and West New York
Owner: North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA)
Prime: EnTech
Construction Cost: $574K

EnTech is proud to announce that it has recently completed its first project as a prime consultant with the North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA). The green infrastructure project involved the construction of 10 right-of-way bioswales along Park Avenue in Weehawken and West New York, NJ. Work included removal and replacement of existing sidewalks and curbs, installation of green infrastructure elements, and landscaping. EnTech, as the REI consultant, planned and coordinated construction and monitored contractor work.

“Weehawken and West New York streets have definitely experienced flooding during intense rain events, mostly due to an old sewer system and lack of proper stormwater management infrastructure,” explains project manager Suzan Sharifan. “Poor stormwater  management can lead to polluted water flooding more frequently and impacting public health. Knowing that more frequent and intense storms are expected due to climate change, investment of this type of infrastructure is not only valuable but essential.”

Congratulations to the project team, and our thanks to the team at NHSA for this first successful collaboration!
