The New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) maintains hundreds of thousands of pedestrian ramps at intersections throughout the five boroughs, most of which are constructed using standard drawings and specifications. Many locations, however, require custom designs, such as those at intersections adjacent to bridge or subway structures; locations featuring a tree or underground vault; street corners with unusual dimensions or topography; and intersections within landmark districts.
EnTech is leading CM services for a design-build project to reconstruct or rehabilitate more than 60 complex pedestrian ramps across approximately 30 intersections in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens, to bring these ramps into compliance with ADA standards. Working as a member of the design-build team, EnTech is conducting condition assessments, monitoring construction, and providing community liaison services.
