The East River Esplanade forms a major component of the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway, providing public access to a long stretch of waterfront stretching from East Midtown to East Harlem. To extend the esplanade’s service life, the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYCDPR) is undertaking a multiphase rehabilitation. Phase 3 is rehabilitating substructure and superstructure elements at three segments of the esplanade: East 62nd Street to East 64th Street, East 76th Street to East 81st Street, and East 90th Street to East 94th Street. The scope of work includes pile work, façade rehabilitation, and seawall and sinkhole repairs.
EnTech is leading the CM team for this project and inspects construction for adherence to approved plans and contract documents, coordinates construction activities, and monitors the project schedule and budget. The firm coordinates material deliveries, marine access, pedestrian protection, and construction staging to accommodate the area’s high traffic, restricted site access, and navigation regulations.
