The NYSDOT is undertaking repairs of structural steel components on highway and roadway bridges across the five boroughs of New York City, through a “where and when” contract. Tasks address steel deterioration assigned red and yellow structural flags and prompt-into-action (PIA) emergency conditions. EnTech is leading construction inspection and office engineering services for 15 work orders, including work on the Kosciuszko Bridge, Cross Bronx Expressway, FDR Drive, Whitestone Expressway, and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
EnTech monitors and inspects construction work—including replacement and installation of girders, bearings, and columns; drainage system improvements; and painting and welding operations—for adherence to contract documents and specifications. The team closely coordinates inspection activities with NYSDOT personnel, as well as with CSX Transportation representatives for activities on freight railroad tracks operating over bridges. The firm inspects existing conditions prior to construction, monitors the implementation of safety plans, manages project documentation, and coordinates between the contractor, client, and partner agencies.
