Resurfacing – Phase 67 Highway Repairs and Improvements

Services: Study & Design
Location: Long Island, NY
Owner: Nassau County Department of Public Works (NCDPW)
Construction Cost: $6M

The goal of this project was the rehabilitation of 3.5 miles of existing roads, extending their service life and providing pavement ride quality for commuters. The study evaluated the condition of all existing curbs, curb ramps and driveway aprons within the project limits. The project was split into three segments, each of which had a different roadway classification and a different pavement structure. The roadway classification ranged from a two-lane, two-way major local roadway to a six-lane, two-way major suburban arterial road. Designs were proposed for the repair/replacement of deteriorated cross-section elements and addressed any drainage issues. Pavement marking design was also completed following local regulations and standards.

EnTech Engineering teamed with Nassau County Department of Public Works (NCDPW) to rehabilitate 5 major roadways. EnTech provided a preliminary technical report (PTR), NYSDOT Draft Design Report (DDR) and Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Compliance Report.
