The Floating Pool Lady is a half-Olympic-size public swimming pool located on a barge moored at Barretto Point Park, on the Bronx’s East River shoreline. The only such floating pool in New York City, the Floating Pool Lady is inspired by the late-19th-century “floating baths” moored on the Hudson River and East River. It provides recreational swimming opportunities for the Hunts Point neighborhood and surrounding communities.

EnTech’s environmental team provided confined space support for a structural assessment of the pool, which had the goal of identifying structural deterioration and determining the necessity of any repairs. EnTech’s team prepared a health and safety plan and entry permit for inspection activities in confined spaces under the pool. The firm acted as the confined space attendant on-site to ensure the safety of the inspection team.
