Claim Services

EnTech provides expert consultation relating to claims management for city, state, and federally funded contracts. EnTech’s claims team advises clients on topics including:

  • Claim Data Collection: Collection and maintenance of proper contemporaneous records relative to potential change orders, time extensions, and claims
  • Dispute Resolution Claims: Disputes over scopes of work or change order work, and associated costs
  • Delay Claims: Client-caused delays and associated damages, inefficiency, and acceleration
  • Changed Conditions Claims: Unexpected conditions that result in additional costs
  • Claim Settlement Negotiations: Early negotiations aiming to reach a fair and reasonable settlement for all parties
  • Change Order Negotiations: Negotiations following standard cost guidelines and contract requirements; analysis of gaps between differing cost estimates
  • Final and Partial Time Extensions: Proper submittals for faster approval times
  • Filing Deadlines: Review of contract documents to meet key deadlines and avoid time bars
  • Claim Waiver Avoidance: Contract language review, to make sure claims aren’t inadvertently waived
  • Final Payment and Contract Closeout: Support for time-consuming final tasks

Permit Expediting

EnTech is also now offering specialized expediting services to assist clients with complex municipal filing processes and secure approvals and certificates of occupancy (COO) for new buildings, building alterations, and infrastructure projects. The firm’s expediting services include:

  • Permit Filing: Coordination and preparation of required filing documents for the appropriate municipal agencies, as dictated by the project scope
  • Code Compliance Review: Verification that construction projects comply with NYC building code and zoning guidelines, to facilitate successful applications for new and major construction
  • Sidewalk and Roadway Permits: NYCDOT registration and permit preparation for construction affecting roadways, highways, and sidewalks
  • Application Tracking: Real-time tracking of application status and coordination with agency personnel to obtain approvals and secure permits on expedited timelines
  • Inspection Coordination: Coordination of required inspections to obtain certificate of occupancy and certificate of operation
  • Violation Dismissal and Removal: Research and dismissal services to clear properties of open violations, which can delay receipt of final certificate of occupancy and negatively impact property sales. EnTech investigates open and pending violations and prepares reports and affidavits to dismiss violations.

EnTech works closely with permit-issuing agencies and is broadly familiar with the requirements and processes of agencies including:

  • New York City Fire Department (FDNY)
  • New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDOB)
  • New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP)
  • New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT)
  • New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYCDPR)
  • New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS)
  • New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC)
