Painting and Protecting Bridges Across the Hudson Valley
EnTech’s transportation CM staff is overseeing an important project to clean and paint deteriorating surfaces on 15 steel roadway bridges across six counties in the Hudson Valley region. The project will protect the bridges against corroding effects of the environment, acid rain, and deicing agents. The project also involves abatement of asbestos-containing material, lead-based paint, and lead-containing concrete coating.
Infrastructure Week Spotlight: EnTech Overseeing Upgrades to the Madison Avenue Bridge
For the past four years, EnTech has been at work over the Harlem River, overseeing critical upgrades to the Madison Avenue Bridge between Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. The firm, in joint venture, is leading resident engineering inspection (REI) and environmental services for a New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) project to upgrade mechanical, electrical, and structural components of the movable bridge. The goal of the project is to replace nonfunctioning or obsolete parts and bring the bridge up to regulatory standards.

Improving Water Infrastructure Reliability
This project will improve water infrastructure reliability in the Bayside neighborhood of Queens, NY by installing more than seven miles of new water mains along 33rd, 37th, and 38th Avenues and sections of Utopia Parkway. The installation serves two main purposes: it creates redundancy within the water distribution system, making the system less vulnerable to shutdowns, and it increases the size of the water mains, improving water pressure in the area.

Microtunneling Completion for DC Water Northeast Boundary Tunnel
Alleviating Storm and Sewage Concerns on Staten Island’s West Shore
Residents of the Travis neighborhood on Staten Island have been affected in recent years by flooding from storm surges and sewage overflows, which have been exacerbated by aging pipes and limited stormwater infrastructure. EnTech recently provided construction inspection and coordination for a $33M project to provide much-needed drainage upgrades for this primarily residential area, including new storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and water mains.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Baruch College Clivner=Field Pedestrian Plaza
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on October 13th to celebrate the official opening of the highly anticipated Clivner=Field Pedestrian Plaza at Baruch College, in Manhattan. EnTech, as a prime consultant, provided resident engineering services for this award-winning project, and several EnTech staff were among those in attendance. Also present were representatives of Baruch College, CUNY, the NYCDDC, NYCDOT, and NYCDEP, as well as donors, community leaders, and students.
Surprise Visits are No Match for the EnTech JV REI Team

REI team had the honor of presenting project QED1023B - REI Services for the Replacement of Trunk & Distribution Water Mains in Cypress Avenue - to New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) Commissioner Jamie Torres-Springer, who was accompanied by NYCDDC Assistant Commissioner Alla Ayzenshtat and Director of Safety Carlos Ortiz.
