The 1,700-seat Palace Theatre, a Broadway landmark built in 1913, is undergoing preservation and renovation as part of the development of TSX Broadway, a 46-story, 550,000-sf retail and hotel structure. The development included raising the theater 30 feet, creating over 75,000 sf of retail space extending three stories below ground level, and 4,000 sf of outdoor entertainment space.
EnTech provided BIM services for the preservation and renovation of the theater, which modernized the space while maintaining its historical features. The restoration included the refurbishment of the theater’s original ornate plaster, paint, and finish scheme, complementing the structure’s original design elements.
EnTech developed architectural BIM for the theater’s ceiling at the 350 level of development (LOD). The model incorporated the ceiling support system for select retail and hotel areas. EnTech participated in BIM coordination meetings and resolved clashes with multiple trade and design disciplines.
