The New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) is undertaking a project to modernize the fire alarm system of the Manhattan Family Courthouse, to achieve full compliance with current building and fire codes and enable future renovations of the building.
EnTech, in joint venture, is leading CM services for the project. The CM team is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the four-phase project execution for conformance to contract specifications and safety requirements. The team is overseeing a scope of work that includes installation of a temporary fire command center; floor-by-floor device installation; final programming and testing; removal of the existing system; and closeout. Work is occurring during night-shift windows, with the courthouse remaining operational during weekdays.
The firm developed the project management plan (PMP) and led contractor on-boarding. During construction, EnTech and its JV partners are overseeing contractor operations, schedules, budgets, and progress tracking. The team leads communication between the NYCDDC, New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (NYCDCAS), Office of Court Administration (OCA), and other stakeholders.
